Set up a custom domain

This feature is only available for Business plans.

Want to personalize your online presence with a custom domain name? This guide will walk you through the steps of connecting your existing domain to your Huva site.

Before you begin:

• Own a domain name: You'll need to own a domain name already registered with a domain registrar like Google Domains, Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc. Huva does not currently sell domain names directly.

• Have an active Business plan: Connecting a custom domain requires an active Huva Business plan.

Steps to connect your custom domain:

1. Log in to your Huva account and navigate to the "Settings" page.

2. Click on the "Domain" tab.

3. Enter your desired domain name in the "Custom Domain" field.

4. Click "Verify Domain".

5. Head over to your domain registrar's control panel.

6. Find the "DNS Settings" or "Manage DNS Records" section.

7. Add a new CNAME* record with the following details:

   • Host: @ (for your main domain) or any other subdomain (e.g. links)

   • Value: domains.huva.me

   • TTL: 600 (10 minutes) [optional, but recommended]

8. Save your changes at your domain registrar.

ℹ️ Domain registrars usually offer detailed guides and support for managing DNS records. Check their resources or reach out to their support team directly if needed.

*Your registrar may not allow you to set a CNAME record for your main domain without an accompanying A or AAAA record. In this case, you must choose an ANAME/ALIAS record instead of CNAME.

Propagation:

It can take a couple of hours for the changes to your DNS records to propagate globally. During this time, your custom domain might not work yet. We'll let you know everything is ready.
